Prof. Anders is internationally recognized as an expert in Photobiomodulation research and has served as invited Chair and Speaker globally. Her specialty is peripheral and central nervous system injury and repair mechanisms, and light tissue interactions. Prof. Anders received her Ph.D. in Anatomy from the University of Maryland Medical School then joined the National Institutes of Health in the Laboratory of Neuropathology and Neuroanatomical Sciences, NINDS. She is affiliated with the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences as a Professor of Anatomy, Physiology and Genetics and Professor of Neuroscience. Prof. Anders serves on the Executive Councils and Scientific Advisory Boards of numerous international laser conferences. She is the past president of the North American Association of Laser Therapy, a founding member of the International Academy of Laser Medicine and Surgery, and Past President of the American Society of Lasers in Medicine and Surgery. She has recently been appointed as a board member of the International Society of Lasers in Medicine and Surgery and currently serves as the Director of the Optical Society of America Photobiomodulation Technical Group. She is a Senior Editor of Photomedicine and Laser Surgery, Associate Editor of Lasers in Surgery and Medicine, Associate Editor of Lasers in Medical Science, and on the editorial board of Physiotherapy Practice and Research and has published over 70 peer reviewed articles.
