PROF. JAN BJORDAL

PT, MSc, PhD, University of Bergen

Prof. Bjordal is the current Director of Health Sciences at the University of Bergen. He received his PhD in Physical Therapy from the University of Bergen 2003 and specialises in the effects of photobiomodulation (PBM) on musculoskeletal injuries and disorders. He is recognised as an expert in PBM therapy, and was responsible for the development of WALT guidelines for dosage recommendations. He has been invited to speak and chair sessions at numerous international PBM conferences. He is the former President of the World Association for Laser Therapy (WALT), and a founding member of WALT. Prof. Bjordal serves on the Executive Councils and Scientific Advisory Boards of multiple laser societies, as well as and the Editorial Board of Photomedicine and Laser Surgery. He has published over 100 peer reviewed articles, and cited more than 8000 times.
